Maurizio Lambardi is Senior Researcher of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy and member of the Institute Council at the IVALSA (Trees and Timber Institute) of Florence.
Maurizio Lambardi is Senior Researcher of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy and member of the Institute Council at the IVALSA (Trees and Timber Institute) of Florence. He has the National Scientific Qualification as ‘Full-Professor’ in the sector 07/B2-Arboriculture and Forest Systems. In the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), he has been Chair of the Commission Molecular Biology and In Vitro Culture and, presently, is Vice-Chair of the Division Plant genetic Resources and Biotechnology, and country representitive for Italy. He is the former Chairman of the Society for Low Temperature Biology, General Secretary of the SOI (Italian Society of Horticulture), Coordinator of the Italian Working Group on “Micropropagation and In vitro Techniques”, Corresponding Academic of the ‘Accademia dei Georgofili’ and Honorific Member of the SHST/Horticulture and Forestry Society from Transylvania. Dr. Lambardi has wide-ranging expertise in plant biotechnology and in vitro culture systems. He has been invited speaker at many national and international congresses and post-degree courses, and is author or co-author of more than 170 scientific papers, reviews, books and book chapters on plant tissue culture, micropropagation, in vitro conservation and cryopreservation. He is presently member of the Editorial Board of the ISI Journals Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture, CryoLetters, European Journal of Horticultural Science, Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici and Propagation of Ornamental Plants, as well as reviewer for various other international Journals in the field of plant tissue culture and biotechnology.
